Siedle was founded in 1750 on the Bregenbachhof in Neukirch as a foundry . Bells, weights and other cast parts were made for the watch manufacture. With the construction of a new factory in Furtwangen in 1870, the change to an industrial company was completed. In 1885 S. Siedle & Sons was chosen as the company name. Due to the decline in watch manufacturing, the company expanded its product range to include low-voltage and telegraph technology during these years. The company produced telephones and their accessories from 1900. The introduction of the telecommunications monopoly in 1928 introduced the change to the production of house and door intercom systems.

Siedle is a member of the trade association for industrial companies in Baden .
