It is a climatic health resort and winter sports resort with cross-country skiing and dog sled races .

history

Neukirch was first mentioned in 1275 in the tithe book of the diocese of Constance . It is not known when the village was founded. It is probably the foundation of the St. Peter monastery in the Black Forest in the 12th century , to which it belonged until 1805. Neukirch was given its own parish 500 years ago . Politically, the community was probably always assigned to the Triberg Bailiwick .

On July 1, 1971, it was incorporated into Furtwangen .
