Rohrbach is a district of Furtwangen in the Black Forest in the Schwarzwald-Baar district in Baden-Württemberg .
geography
Rohrbach is eight kilometers northeast of Furtwangen. It consists of individual farms and small groups of houses in the approximately six-kilometer-long Rohrbach Valley and its side valleys.
history
According to a copy from 1647, Rohrbach was first mentioned in 1316. The settlement probably dates back to the 12th century and was owned by the St. Margareten monastery in Waldkirch. Rohrbach came to the Triberg rule , presumably through the umbrella bailiwick of the Lords of Schwarzenberg , which passed to Habsburg as an imperial fief in 1355. The monastery of St. Margareten exercised the manorial power and the lower court until the secularization in 1805. It was incorporated into the Grand Duchy of Baden in 1806 as an independent municipality in the Triberg District Office.
Since October 1st 1973 it has been part of the municipality of Furtwangen in the Black Forest.
