Siege is an American short film from 1940 .

The American reporter and filmmaker Julien Bryan was in Poland when the German Wehrmacht attacked Poland on September 1, 1939, triggering World War II. As the only cameraman from a neutral country in Poland , Bryan shot some of the first film footage of this war. The short film “Siege”, which was compiled later, focuses in particular on the siege of Warsaw and, in addition to defensive measures taken by the Poles, shows above all the consequences of German bombings and air strikes , including civilian casualties.
Awards
In 1941 the film was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Short Film (One-Reel) category.
In 2006 the film was included in the National Film Registry of the National Film Preservation Board.
