Siegfried Battisti

Siegfried Battisti (* 1944 ) is an Italian Roman Catholic philosopher .

Life

After his doctoral thesis in Innsbruck in 1970 on hermeneutics : Hans Georg Gadamer's concept of truth . Hermeneutic structures based on the guideline of truth with Emerich Coreth and Hans Czuma and habilitation 1987 in Innsbruck on Wilhelm von Humboldt "Ideas for an attempt to define the borders of the state" and the principle of subsidiarity, he headed the department "Ethics and Cultural Philosophy". He conducted research at the Universities of Siena , Naples , Pavia , Genoa and at the Istituto Italiano per gli Studi Filosofici in Naples in February 1997. He had a guest stay as part of the Socrates program at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Tübingen on June 16, 1998 until June 19, 1998 with lectures on the topic: "The Thought of Guilt in Jaspers and Kafka". He continuously held lectures at the PTH Brixen (new chair) on general basic questions of philosophy (philosophical anthropology and ethics, epistemology and hermeneutics, metaphysics with philosophical doctrine of God and philosophy of religion); also special topics of philosophy: (Dostojewskij, Camus, Kafka, A. de Saint-Exupéry and D. Buzzati). He has been retired since October 2003.

His main research interests are ethics, border issues between literature and philosophy (Dostojewskij, Camus, Kafka) and contemporary Italian existential philosophy.
