Siegfried Bronnert (born September 6, 1944 in Burgwedel) is a former German soccer player who played several Bundesliga games for Eintracht Frankfurt as an attacker and took part in the Bundesliga promotion round with VfB Lübeck and FC St. Pauli .

Career

Via the stations TSV Wettmar, TuS Altwarmbüchen and TuS Celle , the trained mechanic Bronnert, who was appointed to the amateur team of Lower Saxony during this time, came to FC St. Pauli for the 1965/66 season, with whom he became and was the champion of the Regionalliga Nord could participate in the promotion round to the Bundesliga. In the 3-2 win over 1. FC Saarbrücken he scored the connecting goal to 1: 2, which helped turn the game around. FC St. Pauli then narrowly missed promotion to the Bundesliga because of the poorer goal quotient against Rot-Weiss Essen.

In the following season Bronnert moved to SG Eintracht Frankfurt, for which he completed a total of 24 Bundesliga games in two years and scored 12 goals. In addition, Bronnert came to several missions in international competitions, such as 1966/67 against Nottingham Forest or the games against Hvidovre IF in the preseason, in which he was also able to score two goals. The most successful games of his time with the Bundesliga club were victories over 1. FC Köln and Schalke 04 in 1966, in which he scored 3 goals each. In the game against Schalke 04, he managed to do this within one half.

After he came to only a few league games in the 1967/68 season, he moved back to the Regionalliga Nord, this time for a transfer fee of 55,000 marks for VfB Luebeck, who to this season by his former coach at FC St. Pauli Kurt Krause trained has been. Bronnert was considered one of the most important and well-known players in the team and with his goals contributed to VfB's greatest success, participation in the Bundesliga promotion round. Here Bronnert scored another goal, but that did not help to prevent the clear failure of VfB. "Siggi" Bronnert played for VfB Lübeck until the 1972/73 season, when he returned to FC St. Pauli during the winter break due to a lack of salary.

With FC St. Pauli, Bronnert took part again in the promotion round to the Bundesliga in 1972/73, but could not score there. In 1973/74 he played with Göttingen 05 in the Regionalliga Nord, with the club qualifying for the 2nd Bundesliga in this season. He then went to KSV Baunatal , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga South in 1975/76. In the 1976/77 season Bronnert was the second best scorer in his team with 11 goals, in the following season he scored only one goal in 24 appearances, in 1978 Bronnert ended his career at VfR Osterode 08 .
