Siegfried Dupuis (born May 3,  1941 - † April 5, 2018 ) was a German basketball official . He was president and chairman of the Bundesliga club DBV Charlottenburg and is considered to be the "pioneer of Berlin Bundesliga basketball".

Life

Dupuis came into contact with basketball as a student at the Erich Hoepner Oberschule and was involved in the establishment of the basketball department of DTV Charlottenburg . At the age of 27, Dupuis took over the management of the basketball department and a few years later became president of the entire DTV Charlottenburg club. In the Berlin Basketball Association he worked as a press attendant and instructor.

In the 1970s, he convinced those responsible for other Berlin basketball clubs to pool their strengths in competitive sport; as a competitive team, the DTV men played under the direction of Dupuis as club president since the establishment of the 2nd Bundesliga in 1975 in the second highest German division. In 1981 the team rose to the basketball league . Dupuis, who worked full-time as a tax consultant, also took on the duties of a chairman as the club's chairman and took care of the composition of the team: for the purpose of reinforcement, he brought junior international players to DTV, including Marco Baldi . In 1983 Dupuis directed the previous managing director of the Berlin basketball association, Herbert May , to DTV, where he was now in charge of national gaming operations. During Dupuis' tenure, he won the German runner-up in 1984/85. In the 1986/87 season, Dupuis retired as chairman of DTV Charlottenburg, but remained active as deputy president in the club's work. Later he was appointed honorary president of the DTV successor club DBV Charlottenburg.

As a pensioner, he spent the winters on Fuerteventura .
