Siegfried Konieczny

Siegfried Konieczny (* 2. June 1959 in Gnoien ; † 7. March 2019 ) was a German politician ( SED , PDS , The Left ) and was from 1 October 2008 to 3 September 2011 District Administrator of the district Demmin .

Life

Siegfried Konieczny, whose parents worked in agriculture, learned the trade of business manager at VEB Getreidewirtschaft in Demmin and later graduated as an agricultural engineering economist. He then worked in the rural youth sector of the FDJ .

After the fall of the Wall , Konieczny was temporarily unemployed and took part in a retraining measure in the field of tourism. Then he was editor of the district gazette of Demmin.

Konieczny became a member of the SED in 1977 . From 1990 to 2008 he was a member of the district council and chairman of the parliamentary group of the PDS / Die Linke. He ran unsuccessfully for the state election in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 2006 . Until 2008 he was a member of the city council of Demmin.

In the district election in the Demmin district , he prevailed in the runoff election on June 1, 2008. He lost his election as the first district administrator of the newly created district of Mecklenburg Lake District in 2011 to Heiko Kärger (CDU). After the election, he became deputy district administrator until he decided not to extend his term of office for health reasons.

Konieczny was married for the second time and lived in Demmin.
