Siegfried Müller (trade unionist)
Siegfried Müller (born September 5, 1935 in Herne ) is a German social democrat and trade unionist .
Life
Siegfried Müller grew up in his hometown of Herne. Even at a young age he had contact with the social democrats: he sang at party conferences in the Falken children's and youth choir . Soon Müller became active in the union. There he met Herbert Wehner , who said he was very impressed.
In 1960 he married his wife Ruth in Bochum. The family moved to Frankfurt am Main for professional reasons . Müller settled in the Büdinger district of Düdelsheim in mid-1968 , where he still lives with his wife today.
From 1973 to 1994 Siegfried Müller was head of the foreign workers department at IG Metall .
In 1981 Siegfried Müller became SPD chairman of the then independent community of Düdelsheim. With the municipal regional reform in 1972, Düdelsheim was incorporated into Büdingen. Müller then became chairman of the SPD Büdingen. Siegfried Müller was a founding member of the nationwide working group Pro Asyl , founded in 1986, and its long-standing member of the board.
