Siegfried Pommerenke

Siegfried Pommerenke (born October 12, 1933 in Heidenheim ; † April 9, 2016 ) was a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament ( SPD ) and a trade unionist.

Life

Pommerenke was born in 1933 in Heidenheim as the son of Wilhelm and Anna Pommerenke. He was the fourth of five children. After finishing school, he initially trained as a carpenter and then worked as a lathe operator at Voith . There he became chairman of the works council and a member of the supervisory board. In 1965 he was elected to the local council and district council for the SPD and in the following year he was first authorized representative of IG Metall Heidenheim and a member of the collective bargaining and negotiating committee in North Württemberg / North Baden. In 1976 he came to the state parliament as a successor and was in the state parliament until 1982, where Peter Hund replaced him when he was elected DGB state chairman. For this he moved to Bietigheim-Bissingen . He held this office for 16 years until his retirement.

He died on April 9, 2016 as a result of Parkinson's disease.

Pommerenke had been married to Hildegard since June 15, 1956. The couple had three children (Margit, Jürgen, Bernd).
