Siegfried Streller

Siegfried Streller (born July 9, 1921 in Ablaß ; † October 18, 2015 ) was a German German studies scholar at the Humboldt University in Berlin . He worked as an editor .

Life

Siegfried Streller was a student of Hans Mayer . He worked as a professor for German literature at the Humboldt University in Berlin.

He worked with Anna Seghers , Heinrich Heine , Heinrich von Kleist , Hans Jakob Christoffel von Grimmelshausen , Martin Luther , Thomas Münzer and Ulrich von Hutten and has partly edited their texts in the Library of German Classics .

He was a member of the university group of the Kulturbund at the Humboldt University, a body in which lateral thinkers also found their place and which Streller skilfully and carefully steered through the cliffs of GDR science and cultural policy. The Kulturring in Berlin eV was founded on March 5, 1994 on his decisive initiative, and he was chairman for over two years.

Streller lived with his family in the Brandenburg town of Bestensee .
