Sieghard VII (Sizo) (* around 1010; † July 5, 1044 in Menfő , Hungary ) from the Sieghardinger family was a count in Chiemgau .

Life

He was the son of Count Engelbert III. im Chiemgau and the Adala , the daughter of Count Palatine Hartwig I.

Emperor Heinrich III. defeated the Hungarians in 1044 , but some Bavarian aristocrats, including Sizo, remained on the battlefield (Menfő, July 5, 1044). His widow Pilihild von Andechs († October 23, 1075) was very concerned about the Michaelbeuern monastery after his death . She was still involved in the consecration of the abbey church in 1072 by her son Sigehard, Patriarch of Aquileia , and other bishops, and died as the abbess of this monastery. Pilihild is also immortalized in the place name Pillichsdorf (in the Weinviertel ).
