Frank Sürmann (2013)

Frank Sürmann (born March 27, 1962 in Neukirchen-Vluyn ) is a Hessian politician ( FDP ) and was a member of the Hessian state parliament from 2009 to 2013 .

education and profession

After graduating from the Meerbusch-Gymnasium, Frank Sürmann trained as a bank clerk at Deutsche Bank in Düsseldorf and then studied law in Heidelberg. After his legal clerkship in Mannheim and Leipzig, he was seconded to help set up the Leipzig Regional Council. In 1992 he completed a major in international private law and European law at the University of Konstanz and passed the second state examination in 1993. He then worked as a lawyer in a law firm. Since 1997 he has been a lecturer at the Mannheim University of Cooperative Education for public and private construction law, tenancy law, WEG law, broker law and real estate law. He has been a specialist lawyer for tax law since 2001 .

Frank Sürmann is married and has three sons.

politics

Frank Sürmann is a member of the FDP and was the chairman of the district parliamentary group in the Bergstrasse district for his party . In the state elections in Hesse in 2009 , he was elected to the state parliament until 2013. After leaving the state parliament, he returned to work in the district council and has been deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group since 2016.

Corps student

During his studies in Heidelberg, Frank Sürmann joined the Corps Thuringia in the winter semester 1984/85. In the summer semester of 1986, as senior of his corps, he led the student celebrations for the 600th anniversary of Heidelberg University with 66 delegates from 24 Heidelberg student associations and over 1000 participants. For more than 20 years he has been a member of the senior management board of his corps, at times as chairman.
