Sieglinde Heppener

Sieglinde Heppener (born October 8, 1934 in Berlin ) is a German politician (formerly SED , now SPD ) and from 2005 to 2014 a member of the Brandenburg state parliament .

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Sieglinde Heppener worked from 1955 to 1963 as an assistant at the Institute for Marxism-Leninism at the Central Committee of the SED in Berlin . This was followed by a degree in philosophy from 1963 to 1965 at the Humboldt University in Berlin with a degree in philosophy .

From 1965 to 1990 she worked as a lecturer at the Academy for Social Sciences at the Central Committee of the SED , where she headed the department "History of Marxist-Leninist Philosophy" since 1983. She received her doctorate in 1970 with the thesis Philosophical Problems of the Conscious Formation of the Socialist Production Relationship and the Development of the Productive Forces under the Conditions of the Unity of the Socialist, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Revolution in the Period from 1956 to the VI. SED Party Congress (1963) . In 1977 he completed his habilitation ( dissertation B ) with the thesis Historical Materialism and the Construction of Socialism in the GDR - To work out the basic questions of historical materialism in the Marxist-Leninist philosophy of the GDR (1949-1962) . In 1984 she was appointed professor.

Sieglinde Heppener is married and has three children.

Political commitment

Sieglinde Heppener has been a member of the SPD since 1993, after being a member of the SED during the GDR. On October 21, 2005, she replaced Steffen Reiche in the Brandenburg State Parliament. For her group she was a member from October 27, 2005 to December 5, 2005 and then a deputy member of the Petitions Committee . Since October 27, 2005, she has also been a deputy member of the Committee on Labor, Social Affairs, Health and Family. She is the senior political spokeswoman for her parliamentary group in the state parliament.

On October 21, 2009, Heppener opened the constituent session of the 5th Brandenburg State Parliament as the age president . After the state elections in Brandenburg in 2014 , she left the state parliament.

In addition to parliamentary work, she is active in various clubs and associations. Since 2003 she has been chairwoman of the Seniors' Council of the State of Brandenburg e. V. and member of the supervisory board of the non-profit ProCurand GmbH and ProCurand Immobilien AG.

Honors

In June 2016, Heppener was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Brandenburg for her commitment “to the interests of the older generation” .
