S45i

The Siemens S45 is a GSM - mobile telephone of the former mobile phone manufacturer Siemens Mobile . It was originally intended by Siemens for business users and will be available on the market from July 2001 . When it was launched, it cost 279 euros and was the successor to the S35 as the upper-class cell phone from the German company Siemens AG .

Functions

The S45 was the first Siemens mobile phone that enabled data transmission via GPRS and direct surfing on WAP sites on the Internet. An integrated appointment comparison with Microsoft Outlook expanded the range of functions. 500 memory locations for the phone book, language selection, support for EMS and the T9 SMS input aid are functions that not every cell phone was able to offer at the time. In addition, the S45 offers the option of composing ringtones yourself and entering them using the keyboard. Finished ring tones ( midi files) can be transferred and used via the Siemens PC software. When it was launched, Siemens also highlighted the approximately 348 KB internal memory (flex. Memory) as an innovation that can be used dynamically for archived SMS, ring tones, the address book or even small pictures. In addition, the functional scope of the device can be expanded using "flash patches".

The S45i also had an infrared interface ( IrDA ).
