Sigemund Klose (* 1623 in Breslau , † 1702 in Durlach ), also Sigmund Close the Elder. Ä. called, was a respected physician and margravial Baden body and court medic .

Live and act

In 1651 Sigemund Klose became a "Physicist" in Durlach . In this function he served as the personal physician to three margraves of the Baden-Durlach family . It was about the Margraves Friedrich V , Friedrich VI. and Frederick VII Magnus . Sigemund Klose also worked from 1666 to 1674 at the Durlach grammar school as a professor of natural science . Due to its prominent position as personal physician and professor, the Klose family were respected citizens of the city of Durlach.

His son Sigmund Klose d. J. (1676–1755) became a physician and, like his father, served as personal physician at the court of the margraves. The Klose family lived in Durlach. The family's former residential and office building from 1706 has been preserved to this day and is now a listed building .

Sigemund Klose's gravestone adorned with a coat of arms is located in Durlach on the old cemetery .
