Sigge Prince

Sigge Fürst (actually Sigurd Fürst , pronunciation : [ ˌsigːə ˈfyʂːʈ ], born November 3, 1905 in Stockholm , † June 11, 1984 ibid) was a Swedish actor and singer . He was a presenter on Swedish television and often played on various theatrical stages in the country.

Fürst was initially a police officer and also played a police officer in several films. He began his artistic career in 1931 at the Oscartheater in Stockholm. He then played in the same town at Folkets Hus and on open-air theaters all over the country. Fürst was a respected singer who made several gramophone records , including Samling vid pumpen , Stadsbudsvisan and Vi har skjutit en gök .

In the 1940s he was employed by various private theaters in Stockholm. In the early 1960s, Ingmar Bergman brought him to the Royal Dramatic Theater . There he played character roles such as Puntila in Bertolt Brecht's Herr Puntila and his servant Matti . In the meantime, Fürst gave guest appearances at the Oscartheater. In addition to his work in television, he has had countless leading and supporting roles in Swedish movies.
