Sigismund Ledel

Sigismund Ledel (also Sigismund Ledelius , born August 19, 1654 in Sorau , † November 4, 1705 in Bautzen ) was a German lawyer.

Life

Sigismund Ledel was a son of the theologian Samuel Ledel (1606-1670). After studying at the University of Jena and with Samuel Stryk at the University of Frankfurt (Oder), he initially worked as an advocate for the Duchy of Schweidnitz and Jauer before becoming Count Palatine and Syndic of Upper Lusatia.

On March 30, 1688, Sigismund Ledelius , nicknamed Hercules II, was accepted into the Leopoldina as a member ( matriculation no. 159 ) .

The medic Samuel Ledel was his brother.
