The Silbitz Group GmbH is a group of three foundries . In addition to the headquarters in Silbitz , Thuringia , there are two other locations in Zeitz , Saxony-Anhalt and Košice , Slovakia .
history
The company's history begins in 1896 with the founding of the Rasberg foundry. 42 years later (1938) the foundry is founded under the current name of Silbitz. During the GDR times, the foundry belonged to the TAKRAF combine as VEB Stahlgießerei Silbitz . The Silbitz Group has had the legal form of GmbH since 1990 . In the course of the good order situation, expansion began in 2006 , during which the Eurocast foundry in Košice was acquired. In 2007 ZGG - Zeitzer Guss GmbH was founded and merged with the foundries in Silbitz and Košice.
In 2013, a melting shop was introduced and a second bay was built in 2014.
In 2015 there was a takeover by Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG). In 2016, in addition to the acquisition of the former axle storage plant in Staßfurt, the company was renamed the "Silbitz Group".
