Silene pinetorum is a plant from the genus of Silene ( Silene ) in the family of Caryophyllaceae (Caryophyllaceae).

features

Silene pinetorum is an annual stem therophyte that reaches heights of 5 to 20 centimeters. The plant is finely hairy at the base and glabrous above. It's sticky under the knot. The calyx is 4 to 7.5 millimeters in size, glabrous and not narrowed at the mouth. The plate of the petals is two columns, white and 2 to 3 millimeters in size. The fruit is a 3.5 to 4.5 millimeter capsule. The carpophor is 2 to 4 millimeters in size.

The flowering period extends from April to May.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 24.

Occurrence

Silene pinetorum is on Crete in the regional districts Chania , Heraklion and Lasithi endemic . The plant grows in pine forests, on limestone scree slopes and on sandy and rocky coasts at altitudes of 0 to 800 meters.

Two subspecies can be distinguished:

  • Silene pinetorum Boiss. & Hero. subsp. pinetorum
  • Silene pinetorum subsp. sphaciotica Oxelman & Greuter .
