action

A Japanese team of scientists has succeeded in capturing a ghost in Taiwan with a novel invention, the so-called Menger sponge . More precisely, the ghost of a little boy. They are keeping him prisoner on the top floor of an old apartment building to help them find out what life is like after death. But she is even more interested in the question of how to become a spirit of permanence. Because according to their research, after death a person's energy only remains for a short time before it disappears into thin air. But the boy's spirit continues to exist in our world, goes about the daily activities that he has done throughout his life and seems to utter incomprehensible words. To translate these very words, they hire Tung, a police sniper who has the ability to read lips . With its help, they want to find out what the spirit says, how it died and who it was. As skeptical as Tung is, he asks about the possible dangers and learns that a photographer has already died in a confrontation with the ghost. During his autopsy it turns out that his heart has been crushed from the inside. Despite everything, Hashimoto's team of scientists does not want to give up. In doing so, however, they take all risks, which leads to tension with Hashimoto's financier, a Japanese politician, who ultimately threatens to overturn the project. To make matters worse, Tung's mother is also in a coma and threatens to die, so that she shouldn't be the only victim ...

criticism

“Initially an impressive genre mix of Asian ghost film and science fiction, which offers considerable slack in the second half. In addition, he takes his own film premise too seriously and looks too desperately for pseudoscientific explanations for his paranormal problems. "

Remake

In 2009 it was reported that Gold Circle Films was planning to develop an American remake of Silk.
