Silke Mayer (born Nowitzki ; born July 12, 1974 in Würzburg ) is a former German national basketball player . She is the older sister of basketball player Dirk Nowitzki .
Career
Silke Nowitzki played for the CVJM Würzburg in her youth and later switched to the DJK Würzburg . With the basketball players of the DJK, she rose to the Bundesliga in 1993. At the end of 1995 she was appointed to the German women's basketball team for the first time and completed 3 games for Germany against Russia, Poland and Lithuania at a tournament in Lodz , Poland , and scored 3 points. In 1998 she took part in the Ronchetti Cup with the DJK Würzburg .
In 2001 Silke Nowitzki went to New York and worked for NBA Entertainment as administrator of European television rights. Between 2003 and 2005 she studied business administration in San Diego . Since summer 2006 she has been the manager of her brother Dirk Nowitzki. Her mother Helga Nowitzki also played for the national basketball team.
Silke Nowitzki is also chairwoman of the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation .
