Silke Vollenhofer-Zimmel (born September 11, 1962 in Neunkirchen ) is an Austrian art and cultural scientist, expert in pre-university promotion of young talent, founder and director of the Children's University of Art and university professor .

Life

Silke Vollenhofer-Zimmel studied law at the Juridicum of the University of Vienna and theater, film and media studies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna . As part of her research in the field of textile technology and archaeometry , she took part in the ISCA COPAL EXPOSITION PROGRAM research project under the direction of Alfred Vendl and Bernhard Pichler. At the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, she teaches design, fashion, teaching, sculpture, industrial design, stage design as well as self, design and project management.

From 2001 she took over the management and conception of “art & economy”, a postgraduate university course at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. After obtaining the professorship at the same university, she worked as Vice Dean of Studies and from 2007 as Vice Rector and was a member of the Austrian Rectors' Conference .

In 2004, Silke Vollenhofer-Zimmel founded and designed and has since headed the Kunst KinderuniKunst , the first European children's university with a focus on culture, art and media design, in cooperation with the University of Applied Arts, University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna , Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna , Academy of Fine Arts and the New Design University St. Pölten. As of 2014, she took over the management of the KooFun coordination office at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, which specializes in measures in the field of pre-university youth development in the arts and culture.
