information Fantasy MMORPG from South Korea . The game is primarily based on the history of the Silk Road from China to Europe .

Silkroad-R (own spelling), abbreviation for 'Silkroad-Rebirth', is a revised version of the Korean MMORPG Silkroad Online from 2011. The new edition is a completely separate game and stands out from the original game through several profound changes.

Differences to the original

The original game Silkroad Online was recently criticized. When Silkroad-R was released , several major changes from the original game were introduced to address this criticism:

  • In Silkroad Online , the extremely slow flow of the game on high levels was always criticized, which led to the overwhelming majority of players using bots . In Silkroad-R , the required amount of experience points has been greatly reduced.
  • The sometimes very unbalanced races and classes in the original game also caused displeasure. In Silkroad-R the races and classes have been aligned and made more competitive with new skills.
  • The use of goldbots (machines that collect gold in the game) had caused extreme inflation in Silkroad Online . To prevent this, gold has been removed as a currency in Silkroad-R on the first 70 levels.
  • To encourage interaction between players, the experience points for playing in groups have been greatly increased.
  • The quest system has been completely revised and a large number of new tasks have been integrated into the game.
  • Several changes to the user interface were made.

reception

The new alternative Silkroad-R was only accepted to a limited extent by the players. The original game still has the significantly higher player base, even if exact numbers are not available due to bots and multi-accounts. Many old problems, especially the bot problem, could not be solved satisfactorily in Silkroad-R either.
