The Silver Hope Creek is a 40 km long left tributary of the Fraser River in the south of the Canadian province of British Columbia .

River course

Silverhope Creek has its headwaters in the Northern Cascade Range . Its origin is at an altitude of 1350  m between the mountains Silverhead Peak ( 1837  m ) in the west and Klesilkwa Mountain ( 2075  m ) in the east. The Silverhope Creek flows in a predominantly northerly direction through the mountains. After 10 km he reaches the Silver Skagit Road , which leads the rest of the river along the river. Further east is the headwaters of the Klesilkwa River , which flows east to the Skagit River . After another 20 kilometers of Silver Creek Hope reached in Silver Lake Provincial Park nearby Silver Lake . It flows through the 1.3 km long lake and flows another 9 km to its confluence with the Fraser River, west of the small town of Hope . At the mouth is Silver Creek , a district of Hope. The British Columbia Highway 3 (Crowsnest Highway) crosses the river about a kilometer above the mouth.

Hydrology

Fish fauna

Steelhead , dolly varden and rainbow trout are found in the Silverhope Creek system .
