Silvia Kündig-Schlumpf

Silvia Kündig-Schlumpf (* 1955 ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens ) and special education teacher.

education and profession

In 1975 she completed her primary school teacher certificate in the canton of St. Gallen. In the following years she worked as a primary school teacher first in Schmerikon and then in Rapperswil-Jona . In 2007 she completed her studies at the University of Curative Education with a degree in School Curative Education / MA in Special Needs Education. From 2008 to 2010 she worked as a special education teacher in the integrative support (IF) of the Stäfa school . In 2015 she acquired a CAS in communication and consulting in an integrative school. Since August 2017 she has been providing advice and support for the schooling of children with disabilities in mainstream schools.

Political activity

Silvia Kündig-Schlumpf has been a member of the Independent Green Social Movement UGS since 2002. From 2004 to 2019 she was a Cantonal Councilor in the canton of St.Gallen . During this time she was particularly committed to environmental and educational issues. She has also made important contributions with advances at canton level, among other things to keep the Schmerkner lake shore free from private developments. Since May 2019 she has been working part-time as a district judge in the See-Gaster constituency . She is also an assessor on the board of the Green Linth.

Private life

Silvia Kündig-Schlumpf is married and has two children. She lives in the canton of St.Gallen. At a young age she traveled to South America and was thus strongly influenced by environmental and social policy.
