Silvia Tschui

Silvia Tschui (* 1974 in Zurich ) is a Swiss writer , journalist , illustrator and cabaret artist .

Life

Silvia Tschui studied German in Zurich, completed a bachelor's degree in graphic design and animation film at Central St. Martins College in London and in literary writing at the Swiss Institute for Literature at the University of the Arts in Biel . During her time in England she worked for RSA Films in London. In 2004 her work was nominated for the British Animation Award. Her debut novel Jakobs Ross was published in 2014 .

At the Bachmann Prize competition 2019 she read from her second novel Der Wod, which will be published in 2020, at the invitation of Nora Gomringer .

Silvia Tschui lives with her family in the city of Zurich. Most recently she worked as an editor in Zurich for the Ringier media group .

In 2015, Jakobs Ross was performed a total of 18 times in an adaptation by Peter Kastenmüller at the Neumarkt Theater in Zurich.

The musical reading program for Jakobs Ross , by Silvia Tschui and Benedikt Lachenmeier, was performed around 100 times in Germany and Switzerland from February 2014.

On October 23, 2015, Tschui's musical cabaret program, Heimat & Heimlifeiss , premiered at the Literaturhaus Zürich as part of the literature event Zürich reads . The program was developed in collaboration with Eric Hunziker and Philipp Schaufelberger .

Movie

Jakobs Ross will be filmed under the direction of Katalin Gödrös . The production company is Turnus Film in coproduction with Dor Film . Urs Bühler wrote the script .
