Silvio Caluori

Silvio Caluori (born March 4, 1933 in Bonaduz ) is a country musician and composer from the Swiss canton of Graubünden .

In addition to his main instrument, the clarinet , Caluori also plays the bass violin . He largely taught himself to play the clarinet and also took a few lessons with Karl Fanghänel at the Zurich Conservatory . He was one of the players in the Ländlerkapelle Brothers Simonelli and moved in 1964 to the Chur Ländlerfründa of Peter Zinsli . In 1968, with Arno Caflisch , Jürg Gadient, Arno Jehli and Peter Jehli, he laid the foundation stone for a new Ländler-style band. At that time Caluori lived in Chur on the Oberalpstrasse, so that the now legendary music group was named Ländlerkapelle Oberalp . He served as Kapellmeister for a few years and was then replaced by Arno Jehli.

As a composer he composed mainly Scottish , Länders and Waltzes .
