Silze ( Ukrainian Сільце ; Russian Сельцо Selzo , Polish Sielec ) is a village in the south of the Ukrainian Volyn Oblast with about 800 inhabitants (2001).

The location belongs to the administrative district municipality of the village Zehiw in Rayon Horokhiv and lies on the highway N 17 7 km southwest of the Rajonzentrum Horokhiv and about 60 km southwest of the Oblastzentrum Luzk .

Personalities

The Ukrainian philosopher, writer, literary critic, translator, editor, dissident and Taras Shevchenko Prize winner Yevhen Swerstyuk was born in the village in 1928 .
