Horochiw (Ukrainian Горохів ; Russian Горохов / Gorochow , Polish Horochów ) is a Ukrainian city with a little over 6500 inhabitants.
location
Horokhiv is located in Volyn Oblast . The city lies on the road N 17 about 50 kilometers south of the district capital of Lutsk and about 90 kilometers north of Lviv .
history
Horochiw was founded around 1450. In 1601 she received the Magdeburg city charter . In 1928 the place was connected to the railway network by the construction of an extension line to today's railway line Lviv – Kiverti , the station is about 8 kilometers southeast of the town center.
