Kiwerzi (Ukrainian Ківерці ; Russian Киверцы / Kiwerzy , Polish Kiwerce ) is a Ukrainian city with 14,916 inhabitants (as of 2011) and a railway junction. It is located in Volyn Oblast about 14 kilometers north of the Oblast capital Lutsk .
On August 8, 2018, the city became the center of the newly founded municipality of Kiwerzi (Ківерцівська міська громада / Kiwerziwska miska hromada ). At that includes also the 10 villages Bodjatschiw (Бодячів) Didowytschi (Дідовичі) Konopelka (Конопелька) Murawyschtsche (Муравище) Sabrody (Заброди) Slawne (Славне) Slowatytschi (Словатичі) Sokyrytschi (Сокиричі) Susk ( Суськ) and Swosy (Звози), until then the city formed the town council of the same name.
The city emerged around an important train station from the end of the 19th century and was declared a city in 1951. The current city arms were adopted on September 9, 1999.
There is a school for nurses in town.
Today the following railway lines connect the city with the railway network:
- Kovel – Kozyatyn railway line (opened in 1873)
- Lviv – Kivertsi railway line (opened in 1890)
