Manewytschi (Ukrainian Маневичі ; Russian Маневичи / Manewitschi , Polish Maniewicze ) is an urban-type settlement in the Ukrainian Volyn Oblast with about 10,000 inhabitants. The next larger cities are Kovel and Warasch , as well as the oblast capital Lutsk .
The M 07 / E 373 road runs near the village of Okonsk , 7 km south of Manevychi .
The place was established in 1892 as a settlement around a railway station on the Kovel – Kiev railway line , which derives its name from the northern village of Prylisne , then Maniewicze / Manewitschi , the village lost this name in 1964.
"Legia" football club, Warszawa
In March 1916, Polish legionaries stationed in the woods near Manewytschi founded the first football team in the Polish army called Drużyna Legionowa .
In the autumn of 1916 he was transferred to Warsaw. The Legia Warszawa team was renamed on July 31, 1922. " Legia Warsaw is one of the best Polish football clubs.
