Stara Wyschiwka ( Ukrainian Стара Вижівка ; Russian Старая Выжевка Staraja Wyschewka ; Polish Wyżwa Stara ) is an urban-type settlement in northwestern Ukraine .

The village has 5200 inhabitants (2012) and is located on the Vyshivka in Volyn Oblast 110 km northwest of the center of the Oblast of Lutsk and 38 km northwest of the city of Kovel .

On July 11, 2018, the settlement became the center of the newly established settlement community Stara Wyschiwka (Ukrainian Старовижівська селищна громада / Starowyschiwska selyschtschna hromada ). history

The settlement in Polesia was first mentioned in 1508 (according to other sources in 1548) and in 1548 received city rights under Magdeburg law . Stara Wyschiwka has a partnership with the Polish town of Urzędów .

Until 1946 the place was called Wyschwa (Вижва / Выжба), in 1957 the place received the status of an urban-type settlement. Stara Vyshivka is the administrative center of Stara Vyshivka Raion . This has an area of ​​1121 km² and a population of about 30,700 inhabitants. The population density is around 28 people per km².
