It is located in Volyn Oblast near the border with Belarus on the Kovel – Brest railway line . To the north-east of the village is Lake Tur.
local community
On September 22, 2016, the settlement became the center of the newly established settlement community Sabolottja (Ukrainian Заболоттівська селищна громада Sabolottiwska selyschtschna hromada ). This also includes the 3 villages Huta ( Гута ), Salissy ( Заліси ) and Tur ( Тур ). Until then, the settlement formed the settlement council of the same name.
history
The settlement, located in the historic Volyn region, was first mentioned in writing in 1501. After Sabolottja had belonged to the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania (in the Brześć Litewski Voivodeship ) until 1795 , after the third division of Poland , it became part of the Russian Empire . It was there in the Volyn Governorate . 1918/1921 fell to the Second Polish Republic , it came to the Volhynia Voivodeship (1921-1939) (Powiat Kowel, Gmina Zabłocie). As a result of the German-Soviet non-aggression pact , the Red Army occupied the area. After the German-Soviet War , the place was under German rule from 1941 to 1944. It was annexed by the Soviet Union again after the Second World War and has belonged to today's Ukraine since 1991. Since 1957 the place has the status of an urban-type settlement .
