Lokatschi (Ukrainian Локачі ; Russian Локачи , Polish Łokacze ) is a Ukrainian urban-type in the oblast Wolyn . It is the capital of the Lokatschi Rajons of the same name and is located about 57 kilometers west of the Oblast capital Lutsk on the Luha-Swynoryjka River.
history
The settlement was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1508, initially belonged to the Polish aristocratic republic (in the Bełz Voivodeship ) and after the 3rd division of Poland in 1795 it came to the Russian Empire , where it was in the Volhynian governorate . In 1918/1921 it fell to Poland and came to the Volyn Voivodeship in the Powiat Horochów. As a result of the Hitler-Stalin Pact , the Soviet Union occupied the area, after the German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, the place was under German rule until 1944, was then annexed by the Soviet Union again after the Second World War and has belonged to today's Ukraine since 1991. Since 1940 the place has had the status of an urban-type settlement .
