Dubyschtsche (Ukrainian Дубище ; Russian Дубище / Dubishche , Polish Dubiszcze ) is an urban-type settlement in Ukraine with about 1900 inhabitants. It lies in the Oblast Volyn in Rajon Rozhysche on the right bank of the Styrs . The Rajonszentrum Roschyshche is located about six kilometers southwest, the Oblast capital Lutsk about 20 kilometers south.
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time around 1322 and was called Dubiszcze until 1795 as part of the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania in the Volyn Voivodeship . Then it came to the newly founded Volhynia Governorate as part of the Russian Empire . After the end of the First World War, the place became part of the Second Polish Republic ( Volyn Voivodeship , Powiat Łuck, Gmina Rożyszcze). As a result of the Hitler-Stalin Pact , the Soviet Union occupied the area. After the German attack on the Soviet Union in 1941, the place was under German rule until 1944, then came back to the Soviet Union after the Second World War and was incorporated into the Ukrainian SSR . In 1982 the construction of planned housing estates for the workers of the poultry farms in the area began, in 1991 the settlement came to the newly established Ukraine, after which there was a large resettlement campaign of the residents from August 28, 1990 to 1995 on the basis of a resolution Irradiated areas of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster , due to the strong growth of the place, Dubyshche was granted urban-type settlement status in 1992.
