The Kovel – Kozyatyn railway is a main line in Ukraine . It runs from Kovel , a railway junction in western Ukraine in a south-easterly direction via Kiversi , Rivne , Sdolbuniv , Shepetivka and Berdychiv to Kozyatyn , a railway junction in Vinnytsia Oblast . The line has a gauge of 1520 m, the line is electrified throughout, single-track between Kovel and Kiverti, the rest of the line to Kiev is double-track. The company is run by the Ukrainian Railways , in particular the Lvivska Salisnyzja and from Semylitka by the Piwdenno-Sachidna Salisnyzja .

history

The Berdychiv – Koziatyn line was opened in 1870 by the Kiev-Brest Railway , followed by the line between Krywyn and Berdychiv in 1872, and the rest of the line from Kovel in 1873. The Kiev-Brest Railway became part of the Russian Southwest Railways in 1882 , after 1918 the section between Kovel and the Polish-Soviet border to Mohylany was transferred to the Polish State Railways (PKP) , and the rest of the route was connected to the Soviet Railways . The Polish route was converted to standard gauge, characterized the continuous traffic direction Koziatyn was no longer possible and is set, the relation Warszawa - Lublin - Kovel - Zdolbunow - Mohylany in 1939 the rate register 407. After the Second World War came all the way to the Soviet Union and was switched back to broad gauge, in 1991 the line became the property of the Ukrainian Railways.
