Oschenyn ( Ukrainian Оженин ; Russian Оженин Oschenin , Polish Ożenin ) is a village in the southeast of the Ukrainian Rivne Oblast with about 4700 inhabitants (2001).
The village, first mentioned in writing in 1534, is the administrative center of the eponymous, 57.03 km² district council with a total of about 6500 inhabitants in the north of the Ostroh district , to which the villages Brodiw ( Бродів , ⊙ ) with about 400 inhabitants, Krajiw ( Країв ) with about 600 inhabitants and Stadnyky ( Стадники , ⊙ ) with about 800 inhabitants.
Oschenyn is located 3 km west of the bank of the Horyn on the territorial roads T – 18–30 and T – 18–31 . The Rajonzentrum Ostroh is 15 km south and the Oblast capital Rivne is about 30 km northwest of the village.
In the village there is a train station built in 1873 on the Kovel – Kosjatyn railway line , which has been called Ostroh (named after the nearby Rajons capital) since 1973 .
