Simba the Lion King is an Italian cartoon series that is about a young lion whose father was shot by a human through an intrigue of the common tiger Shir Khan . Numerous figures - but not Simba - are taken from the jungle book .

After the death of his father, Simba and his two sisters are taken in by a pack of wolves that have already taken care of Mowgli . Together with his best friend, a fawn named Bambi, the bear Balu and the giant snake Kaa , the two learn about the laws of the jungle and experience many adventures on the way to adult life. The series shows the diverse spectacles of nature, such as the metamorphosis of butterflies , the hunt of wolves , sandstorms and more. In addition, children are also shown the dangers of nature. It is pointed out that blindness can result if you expose your eyes to direct sunlight for too long, or that you have to be careful with unknown plants as there is a risk of poisoning .

In the course of the series, tensions arise between the two groups around the lion Simba and the tiger Shir Khan, which ultimately end in a great battle that Simba and his followers can win. The end of the series is still open.

The series is set in northwest India in the area of Gir National Park . In the course of the individual episodes, Simba and his friends hiked westward through the deserts of Arabia and the Sahara desert to the African savannah on Kilimanjaro .
