Simen Muffetangen

Simen Muffetangen (born June 6, 1971 ) is a Norwegian handball coach and former handball player .

The 1.90 m tall and 92 kg heavy left backcourt player began playing handball at Kragerø IF, where he was top scorer in 1989, 1992 and 1993 and player of the year in 1989. With Sandefjord TIF he was Norwegian champion and cup winner in 1999. He then moved to the German handball league for VfL Bad Schwartau , with which he won the DHB Cup 2000/01 . In October 2003 he left the successor club HSV Hamburg to Denmark to Aalborg Håndbold , where he ended his career in December 2003.

In 2004 Muffetangen took over the coaching position at his hometown club Kragerø IF and resigned there in 2007.

In the Norwegian national team Simen Muffetangen made his debut on October 25, 1989 against Sweden . By 1996 he played 106 internationals in which he scored 370 goals.
