Simon Arkell
Simon Arkell ( Simon Graham Arkell ; born July 1, 1966 in Maidenhead , England ) is a former Australian pole vaulter .
Career
At the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in 1986 he was seventh and fifth at the 1989 World Cup in Athletics in Barcelona.
In 1990 he won the Commonwealth Games in Auckland . At the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in 1991 and at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, he was eliminated from the qualification. Even at the World Championships in Stuttgart in 1993 and in Gothenburg in 1995 and at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, he did not get past the first round.
He was three times Australian champion (1989, 1991, 1992) and twice English champion (1988, 1993).
