Simon Brenner

Simon Brenner (born September 24, 1984 ) is a former German football player .

career

Brenner's American football career began in 2000 in the offspring of the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns . With the men's team of Haller he entered the top German league GFL . In 2011 and 2012 he became German champions with the Hallern team, and the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes were defeated in both finals . In 2014, 2015 and 2016 the linebacker with Schwäbisch Hall was also in the final of the German championship, but lost to the Braunschweig Lions . In 2017 and 2018 he was again German champion with Schwäbisch Hall. On the occasion of Brenner's departure from competitive football in October 2019, coach Jordan Neuman described him as "one of the greatest in Unicorns history". Brenner played at the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns from 2007 onwards at the side of his brothers Johannes and Felix . For the 2020 season, Simon Brenner became a member of the Haller coaching staff and from then on, together with his brother Johannes, coordinated defense work and looked after young and new players.

National team

With the German national team he won the European Championship in 2010. At the 2011 World Cup, he was fifth with Germany. He won silver at the  2017 World Games .
