Simon Crane

Simon Crane (* 1960 in Twickenham ) is a British stuntman and actor .

His first stunt man was in 1985 in James Bond 007 - In the Face of Death . This was followed by appearances in films such as The Secret of the Hidden Temple and Aliens - The Return . In 1989 he doubled leading actor Timothy Dalton in License to Kill and in 1991 Kevin Costner in Robin Hood - King of Thieves . From 1993 he also became a stunt coordinator and performed the "most expensive stunt" according to the Guinness Book of Records in the film Cliffhanger - Only the Strong Survive . He has worked as a stunt coordinator for numerous blockbusters, including Braveheart (1995), Titanic (1997), Saving Private Ryan (1998), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), Terminator 3 (2003), Troy (2004), Hancock (2008) or Salt (2010).

More rarely he also appeared as an actor in small roles. In the movie Titanic (1997) he played 4th Officer Joseph Boxhall .

He has also worked as a second unit director since the 1990s . In 2004, 2005 and 2011 he was nominated for the Taurus Award .
