Simon Fisher Turner
Simon Fisher Turner (born November 21, 1954 in Dover ) is an English musician, songwriter, composer, producer and actor. He used different names for the publications of his recordings, including Simon Fisher Turner , The King of Luxembourg , Deux Filles and Simon Turner .
Career
After his role as Ned East in the 1971 television adaptation of Tom Brown's School , Simon Turner quickly became known as a teen star in England. He owed this to his mentor Jonathan King , who released his first album on UK Records in 1973 . In the further course of the 1970s, Turner played the title role in the television series Kim & Co and made minor appearances in films such as Dead Sleep Better .
In the 1980s he released several singles under the name The King of Luxembourg , in 1990 he released another solo album. Turner also began recording film soundtracks in the 1980s, including for Derek Jarman's films Caravaggio , The Last of England - Lost Utopias , The Garden and Blue, and the horror film Nadja produced by David Lynch . Many of his soundtracks have been released on CD.
In 2002 Turner was a visiting professor at the Braunschweig University of Art . In 2009 he produced Polly Scattergood's debut album .

Simon Turner lives in London with his wife and two children .
Awards
In 1976 Turner was awarded an Otto , an award from Bravo magazine for male television actors. In 2014 he received an Ivor Novello Award for his soundtrack to the silent documentary film The Epic of Everest from 1924.
