Simon Ross Mensing (born June 27, 1982 in Wolfenbüttel ) is an English football player of German descent. He has both nationalities.

Mensing played in the reserve team at Wimbledon FC until 2002 . During his time there he was loaned to FC Stenhousemuir and FC Clyde . At Clyde the right midfielder was able to prevail, was even youth player of the year and moved to FC Clyde in May 2002.

He quickly became a crowd favorite with the Scots and was nicknamed "Gunter" because of his German roots. After three years at Clyde, he moved to St. Johnstone FC in 2005 .

In 2007 he moved to Motherwell FC . In September 2007 he was loaned to Hamilton Academical for three months after not becoming a regular at Motherwell. Since January 18, 2008 he played regularly for the club and was even promoted to the Scottish Premier League at the end of the season . After a drug test positive for methylhexanamine , he was banned for one month in January 2011.

In 2012 he moved to the Raith Rovers and in 2013 he went to Livingston FC . In 2015 he moved to the Atlanta Silverbacks in America, where he took over the position of captain.

In 2016 he moved to North Carolina FC , which was previously called RailHawks . After a year there he moved back to Scotland in the Scottish League One , Scotland's third division. There he played for Airdrieonians FC and Forfar Athletic FC . Overall, he made twelve games in the two without scoring.
