The Simon Peak is a turn 1000 m high mountain in the northwest of Alexander Island off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises northeast of Umber Island on the west side of the Havre Mountains .
He was probably first sighted in January 1909 by participants in the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908–1910) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot . The mountain is named after Alec Edward Simon (* 1947), who worked for the British Antarctic Survey as an aircraft mechanic in the Antarctic summers between 1972 and 1976 on Adelaide Island .
