Life

After graduating from high school, he was called to the military and worked as a telecommunications operator in France. As a young man in Paris, he made a living from performing in nightclubs. The owner of Harry's New York Bar discovered him there . He played in this bar for the next few years. Hollywood guests often visited this place in Paris. Some of his listeners were Coco Chanel , Ali Khan , Rita Hayworth , Humphrey Bogart , Ernest Hemingway , the Rothschilds, the Duke of Windsor , Jean-Paul Sartre . He was hired by Coco Chanel for a private party. Schott wrote novels and the first book on bar piano, How to Play Bar Piano . In it, Schott explains the chord coding and connections for the bar piano. He was convinced that only when you master the text of a song can you express this content instrumentally. This is how his own style of interpretation emerged.
