Simon Williams (athlete)
Simon Williams ( Simon Alexander Williams ; born October 17, 1967 in the London Borough of Enfield ) is a former British shot putter and discus thrower .
In 1990 he won the Commonwealth Games in Auckland for England , starting in the shot put.
At the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in 1991 and at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, he did not get past the first round in discus throwing.
In 1988 and 1989 he became English champion in the shot put. In 1991 he became NCAA champion in the same discipline for Louisiana State University .
