Simona-Mirela Miculescu (born July 4, 1959 ) is a Romanian diplomat .

Miculescu studied at "Mihai Eminescu" College, Satu Mare and the "Babes-Bolyai" University in Cluj-Napoca . In 1992 she took a diplomacy training course at the Institute for International Relations at the University of Leeds . From 1995 to 1997 graduate studies followed at George Washington University in Washington, DC . In 1999 she did her PhD at the "Babes-Bolyai" University in Cluj-Napoca. From 1991 to 1992 she held various offices in the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From October 1999 to December 2000 she was diplomatic advisor and officer in the press office and public relations department of the OSCE mission in Kosovo .

Miculescu currently serves as Permanent Representative of Romania to the United Nations in New York with the rank of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador . She was accredited on June 5, 2008. She is Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Romania and the first woman in Romanian history to hold the rank of Ambassador.
