Simone Bertazzo made her debut in the World Cup in 2004 and already achieved his first podium finish in his second season with third place in the four-man bobsleigh in Lake Placid . He then represented Italy at the Olympic Games in Turin , where he came 9th in the two-man bobsleigh and 12th in the four-man bobsleigh in Cesana . Another season later , he and Samuele Romanini won the bronze medal at the World Championships in St. Moritz . In January 2008 he again celebrated his first World Cup victory with Romanini in Cesana with Romanini and they also won bronze at the European Championships in the same place . In the following two winters Bertazzo could not achieve a podium in the World Cup, but took part in the Olympic Games again and was ninth in four on the Whistler track . In two he was disqualified.
In the 2010/11 season , Simone Bertazzo achieved two World Cup victories and two further podium places in the two-man bobsleigh, making him third in the overall standings. With a 7th place in the overall World Cup, he also achieved his best position so far in the four-man category and in the two-man championship he reached the 6th place. The following winter was disappointing, however, and only managed to finish in the top ten in Whistler. In 2012/13 he again achieved better results in two and was seventh in the overall World Cup after five top 10 results. In the 2013/14 Olympic season he only placed between 13 and 19, but took part in his third Olympic Games , where he finished 14th and 18th. In the 2014/15 season, Bertazzo mainly started in the European Cup , where he celebrated three victories of the season and also won the overall standings in two, four and combined. In the second half of the season he also took part in six World Cup races and achieved fifth place in the four-man bobsleigh in St. Moritz as the best place.
